PHILADELPHIA and ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND, February 16, 2010 – BDP Project Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of global logistics and transportation management firm BDP International, has opened an office in Aberdeen, Scotland, to service the needs of U.K. project clients, including the important North Sea oil and gas industry.

“We are delighted to be formally extending our Aberdeen presence into BDP’s European footprint,” said Luc Van Heygen, BDP Project Logistics managing director for the Americas and Europe. “The ‘Oil Capital of Europe and Gateway to the North Sea’, as it’s sometimes referred to, has been under our due diligence for some time. The most compelling data from our research has revealed logistics / transportation decision-makers in the oil and gas sector here are looking above and beyond one-size-fits-all service solutions. The very nature of the industry necessitates a much more intensive customer service business model; a more high-touch, high-speed premium service experience for front line decision-makers who need and expect more.”

Crawford Hendy, branch manager, and Marc Clarke, sales manager, bring to BDP more than 45 years of experience in the North Sea sector. Hendy has been involved in freight forwarding in the region for more than 30 years. Clarke has more than 15 years of both operational and sales experience in the North Sea, Middle East and African markets. Significantly both men have worked for major oil and gas companies.

With the support of BDP’s global network of more than 140 offices in over 120 countries, the Aberdeen office will offer a full range of ocean, air, charter and road freight services. In addition to traditional freight forwarding activities, it will provide third-party warehousing, domestic and international distribution, on- and off-site packing and crating, customs consulting, and assistance with legal documentation. The newly established office complements and completes the global BDP Oil and Gas organization, which has a strategic presence with competency centers in all major deployment hubs, including Houston, Aberdeen, Dubai and Singapore.

The Aberdeen office will play a key role in developing the hub and region, while offering a unique hub-and-spoke solution for its U.K. oil and gas clients, exporting to and importing from the Gulf of Mexico, South America, the Caspian Sea, the North Sea, CIS, Middle East, West Africa and Asia. By channeling cargoes through regional hubs, it will coordinate deliveries to mainline ports and airports, as well as inland destinations.

BDP extends capabilities into mid, upstream markets

SINGAPORE, December 15, 2009 – BDP Project Logistics, a leading privately held project logistics and transportation management services company, today announced the establishment of a new subsidiary – BDP Oil and Gas Logistics Pte Ltd. Incorporated with headquarters in Singapore, the new company will target the growing opportunities in the global oil and gas supply chain.

BDP Project Logistics and its parent company, BDP International (BDP), are already recognized as leaders in the energy, chemical and petrochemical logistics business. The new company will extend BDP’s service offerings to include mid and upstream market activities within the oil and gas supply chain, allowing BDP to offer a total service solution to oil and gas companies.

BDP already lists many of the world’s leading energy and petrochemical companies among its customers, including Shell, Exxon Mobil, DuPont, The Dow Chemical Company, INVISTA and Quinn Chemicals.

Martin Runshaug, commercial director of BDP Oil and Gas Logistics, said the vertical was formed to meet the need for a total logistics services provider that can offer total integrated logistics solutions with emphasis on quality, health, safety, environment and compliance.

“BDP Oil and Gas Logistics will service clients across the entire oil and gas value chain, explained Runshaug. “The new company combines BDP’s two principal strengths: its position as a global leader in the downstream sector as well as its expertise in project logistics.

“Our ability to offer turnkey logistics solutions – from supply chain management of rig and FPSO new building and conversions through to the transportation of heavy-lift structures supported by our in-house transport engineering division and finally logistics support for offshore and onshore assets in operation– is what gives BDP Oil and Gas Logistics an edge over its competitors,” he continued. “As a private family-owned company, BDP remains flexible in its management approach and agile in its decision making, enabling us to swiftly adjust to market conditions and tailor unique solutions to meet the exact needs of our clients.”

According to Runshaug, the energy sector is set to boom in the coming decade with an increase in exploration and production to meet the demands of emerging nations such as Brazil, Russia, India and China.

“BDP Oil and Gas Logistics expects significant activity in the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, West Africa, Brazil, Vietnam, China, India, and Australasia as well as the arctic regions,” said Runshaug.

PHILADELPHIA, November 5, 2009 — BDP International has won the prestigious 2009 President’s “E Star” Award for Export Service.
Twenty-one companies that excel at exporting were honored by U.S.
Commerce Secretary Gary Locke on Nov. 5 as recipients of the Presidential “E” and “E Star” Awards during a ceremony at the National District Export Council Conference. The awards are the highest U.S. government recognition any domestic entity may receive for supporting export activity.

Philadelphia-based BDP is one of only four companies in the U.S. to receive the “E Star” award this year, and one of only two in the category of export service.

“BDP International has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion,” Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said in presenting the award. “Your increase in export servicing sales, from $18.1 million in 2005 to $35.4 million in 2008, is impressive. Your company’s expansion to 23 U.S. facilities and operations centers in 120 countries is a reflection of your superior customer service. BDP International’s achievements undoubtedly have contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs.”

The award was accepted by H. Timothy Bolte, BDP vice president, and Michael Ford, vice president of regulatory compliance and quality.

This is the second time that BDP has won an export award from the U.S.Department of Commerce. In 1997, BDP was awarded the President’s “E” Award for excellence in exporting, the highest U.S. award for American exporters. The “E Star” award is given for continued efforts to improve U.S. export service. Only winners of the “E” Award can compete for the “E Star” award.

BDP International is one of the leading privately held freight logistics/transportation management firms based in the United States. It operates freight logistics centers in more than 20 cities throughout North America and a network of subsidiaries, joint ventures and strategic partnerships in 121 countries.

BDP was lauded for its dedication to research and education in the industry, including initiatives to assist export clients in logistics and operational matters. In April 2006, BDP surveyed shippers to determine their understanding of non-vessel operating common carrier confidential service agreements. In May 2007, BDP in conjunction with St. Joseph’s University surveyed multi-national companies in the chemical, consumer goods, industrial and retail sectors regarding global supply chains.

“We are unaware of any company that provides more market guidance and current trade information to all of their stakeholders than BDP International,” said BDP CEO Rich Bolte. “This award is a validation that our collaborative approach to global logistics have not only helped our clients but contributed to U.S. export expansion.”

BDP has also established offices and warehouse facilities throughout the commercial world. This expansion gives clients access to on-site local distribution experts who are bilingual, knowledgeable about the market and available to accompany and advise BDP clients in negotiations with local industry.

As an example, in China BDP provides supply chain consulting and project services along with expertise in local documentation and regulations through BDP offices located in ten major commercial areas of China.

History of the awards
During World War II, more than 4,000 “E” pennants were presented to war plants in recognition of production excellence. The famous flag with the big “E” emblazoned on it became a badge of patriotism in action.

President John F. Kennedy revived the World War II “E” symbol of excellence to honor and provide recognition to America’s exporters. Thus, the “E” Award Program was established by executive order on December 5, 1961. The “E Star” was authorized in 1969 to recognize “E” Award winners for continued efforts in export expansion.

Winners of the “E” and “E Star” Award are authorized to fly the blue and white banner, to display the accompanying certificate of commendation, signed by the secretary of Commerce in the name and by the authority of the president, to wear and issue to employees an “E” lapel pin and to refer to the award in their advertising.

SINGAPORE and ABU DHABI, August 26, 2009 – BDP Project Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of BDP International based in Singapore, has opened an office in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. To position itself for government tenders and expand its activity in the country and region, BDP Project Logistics established the office as a separate legal entity. Conducting business as BDP Global Project Logistics LLC, it will focus on the oil and gas, infrastructure and power generation sectors working with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors.

“Of the seven emirates, Abu Dhabi has been the least affected by the current economic downturn, and is assisting the others in their recovery efforts,” said Virendra Sehgal, regional director for BDP Project Logistics in the Middle East. “Additionally, it is expected to rebound strongly in the region.”

Thaddeus Joymon, general manager of BDP Project Logistics’ Dubai office, which is providing sales, finance and administrative support for the new office, noted, “Abu Dhabi is the largest of the U.A.E. emirates, covering nearly 90% of the land mass and contributing 70% of total GDP. Significantly, it holds 9% of the world’s proven oil reserves and almost 5% of its natural gas reserves, the rising prices of which are fueling lots of construction activity, which in turn is providing enormous opportunities for project logistics business.”

“Sponsoring our company is Sultan Salem Khadem Salem Al Mansouri, a U.A.E. national who has sponsored many other firms engaged in engineering, infrastructure and logistics,” added Joymon. “He brings to us extensive experience, expertise and enthusiasm in dealing with companies in the oil and gas, energy and engineering and construction industries in Abu Dhabi.”

Managing the Abu Dhabi office and reporting to Joymon are Vinod Kumar, manager of sales and operations, who brings more than 10 years of logistics experience to the position, and Ayyappadas Kurup, a business development executive who had been working in the company’s Dubai office.

SINGAPORE and NUREMBERG, March 5, 2009 – The European regional headquarters office of BDP Project Logistics in Nuremberg, Germany, has been certified to the requirements of the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System for project forwarding and transport engineering. Conferring the certification was BSI Management Systems, a leading provider of certification and training services which audited the facility.

“This certification is vitally important in two ways,” said Emanuel Scerra, BDP Project Logistics regional director. “It assures our European and global customers that our management system meets the global standard for our industry, and that they can rely upon us to consistently deliver world-class services.”

The ISO 9001:2000 quality management system specifies a number of requirements organizations need to meet to validate their ability to consistently provide services that meet customer expectations, and to enhance customer satisfaction through continual improvement. These requirements include establishing procedures covering all key business processes; monitoring processes for effectiveness; maintaining adequate records; checking for defects and taking corrective action when necessary; regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system itself; and facilitating continual improvement.
