Aaron Chen
Regional Director - Southeast Asia
Aaron Chen has more than twenty years’ experience in transportation and logistics. As Regional Director for BDP Project Logistics in Southeast Asia, his focus is new business development, building on current relationships and project collaborations with other BDP Project Logistics regions and Partners, as well as BDP International’s global network resources.
Chen brings a wealth of expertise to the BDP Project Logistics team with past experience in various industrial projects as well as extensive knowledge of the coal mining industry in Indonesia.
Prior to assuming his role for BDP Project Logistics, Chen was Managing Director for BDP International in Indonesia, where he became a shareholder in 2001. His entrepreneurial nature, progressive business philosophy and fresh ideas quickly distinguished him within the company.
His roots in international trading business—based on a finance background—extended to securing freight from origin for the steel and industrial metals cargoes he traded. In 1999, Chen moved into the service provider industry by establishing a shipping agency in Jakarta, focusing on dry bulk and liquid bulk shipping.
Originally from Singapore, Chen has spent the greater part of his life living outside his homeland, mainly in the Americas and Indonesia.
