BDP eyes UAE govt deals

Source: Procurement Asia, September 1, 2009 – Singapore – Singapore-based BDP Project Logistics says its new office in Abu Dhabi will better position the company for government tenders and facilitate expansion in the region.

The new arm, BDP Global Project Logistics, will act as a separate legal entity and will focus on the oil and gas, infrastructure and power generation sectors working with engineering, procurement and construction contractors.

“Of the seven emirates, Abu Dhabi has been the least affected by the current economic downturn, and is assisting the others in their recovery efforts,” said Virendra Sehgal, regional director for BDP Project Logistics in the Middle East. “Additionally, it is expected to rebound strongly in the region.”

The company is sponsored by Sultan Salem Al Mansouri, a UAE national who has sponsored other firms engaged in engineering, infrastructure and logistics.
