“BDP Project Logistics is an excellent fit for us,” said Terry Simokat, president of American Cargoservice. “The company’s global project network will enable us to bring major resources, including engineering, to large projects that require all facets of transportation management on a global scale.”
Luc VanHeygen, managing director, Americas and Europe, for BDP Project Logistics, added, “ACS will bring us valuable cargo handling capability and expertise in the important California project market, where we are looking to expand our involvement in the alternative energy markets, among others.”
Among the services provided are end-to-end materials management and tracking, freight consolidation and carrier cost maintenance, logistics process analysis and optimization, documentation, coordination of cargo inspections, inland transportation and scheduling, and supervision of heavy lifts, and hazardous cargo, port operations, and jobsite unloading and checking. In addition, the company recently established an engineering division based in Leipzig, Germany, that provides professional route surveys, method statements and infrastructure-related structural engineering calculations, as well as technical methods for lifting and positioning heavy equipment.
