BDP launches Singapore sub
Source: Heavy Lift and Project Forwarding International, May/June 2008 – BDP International has launched a new project logistics division in Singapore specifically aimed at luring hard-to-move project cargo.
The company claims that it has already landed some significant business, including the transport of heavy equipment for a new industrial park located in Leuna, Germany, for chemical giant Quinn Chemicals; logistics and transport for reactors and related equipment from Indonesia to northern Iraq for a US-based power company; as well as logistics planning and transport involving machinery and equipment from Europe, Japan and North America for the construction of a chemical manufacturing plant near Guangzhou, China.
BDP chief executive officer Peter Huels said Singapore was chosen as headquarters for the new unit because of its business friendly environment and proximity to emerging markets.
